Regions 2, 13, 15 are offering the SEA Virtual Workshop: Managing Education Resources in Response to COVID-19 and the American Rescue Plan.

This virtual workshop session is designed to:

  • Review and discuss the provisions and implications of The American Rescue Plan Act (ARP) of 2021
  • Assist state education agencies (SEAs) with strategic resource planning
  • Feature examples of SEA approaches to strategic planning and use of COVID-related funds for learning recovery
  • Provide opportunities for state team planning and cross-state sharing

The format includes two general information sessions, each followed by a breakout session focused on peer-to-peer sharing of strategies and resources. SEAs are encouraged to assemble a team to participate in the workshop. Suggested team members include: Chief; Deputies; Chief Financial Officer; and staff in charge of Federal Programs, Special Education, School Improvement and Early Childhood/HeadStart. SEA teams will have the opportunity during the workshop to discuss what they learned and apply it to their own unique context.
